For Hajj, Muslims gather in Makkah to visit all the places which are beloved by Almighty Allah and his Prophet Muhammad PBUH. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is covered with a great number of places that are visited by our Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
So if you want to make the most of the Hajj pilgrimage then visit these places during the Hajj that will revitalize your spirituality. Know the miracles and the background the places have as it will give you true essence of your Ibadah.
Below is the list we have compiled for some Ziyarat places in Makkah during the Hajj Pilgrimage. Let us have a look!
1. Mina
Mina is the place where Hajis spend the majority of their nights during their Hajj pilgrimage. It is located in the east of Masjid al-Haram and is 8 kilometers away from the mosque. In mina, Hajj pilgrims arrive on 8th Dhul Hijjah till 10th to 13th Dhul Hijjah. This place is also known as The Tent City and around 100,000 tents are placed for Hajj pilgrims.
2. Masjid al-Haram
The Holy Kaaba that we call the house of Allah, is located in Masjid Al Haram. It is the center of our spirituality and the Holy Kaaba is what every Muslim wishes to touch, kiss, and make prayers there. Across the Holy Kaaba and in Masjid al-haram, there are spiritual things that you must look for:
- Kaaba
- Hajr e Aswad (Black Stone)
- Maqam e Ibrahim
- Safa and Marwah.
- ZamZam
3. Muzdalifah
One of the significant and prominent places to visit during the hajj pilgrimage is Muzdalifah. It is located in Makkah, between Mount Arafat and Mina valley. During hajj, all Hajj pilgrims travel from Mina to Muzdalifa and stay there till sunset.
On the top hill of Muzdalifa, there is a mosque where Hajj pilgrims offer their prayers during their stay. It is one of the important places to go to Ziyarat during Hajj.
4. Mount Arafat
9th Dhul Hijjah is the day when the day of Arafat falls and Hajj pilgrims come from Mina to Mount Arafat. Coming to Arafat is one of the significant rituals of Hajj. Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) delivered his last sermon here. If the Hajj pilgrims could not make to Arafat then their Hajj will be nullified.
Hajj pilgrims come there in the afternoon and stay there till sunset. They listen to Hajj Khutbah here and offer Dhuhr and Asr prayers together.
5. Cave of Hira
Cave of Hira holds great significance in the history of Islam. It is the sacred place where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had the first revelation of the Holy Quran from Allah. Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to visit the cave of Hira during the first 40 years of his life to have a peaceful time in Ibadah. This cave is located 5km far from Masjid Al Haram. The cave is really far from the ground and one has to climb the mountain to reach to the cave. It almost takes 45 minutes to reach there.
6. Cave of Thawr
Another prominent place in the history of Islam is The Cave of Thawr. It is the place where our Prophet Muhammad PBUH spent three days and nights with Abu Bakr (RA) when Prophet (PBUH) migrated from Makkah to Madinah. One can reach the cave in almost one and half hours.
Days of Hajj
First ten days of Dhu Al-Hijjah are really crucial and the 9th Dhu al-Hijjah is the Day of Arafat. This day is called “The Day of Hajj”. So even if you are not performing Hajj, make sure to offer special prayers on this day to get the best of the rewards from Almighty Allah.
