The importance of Mosque is known by every Muslim indeed. Mosques are the heart of the Islamic community. The places of mosques are heartbeats of Muslims and recognize as one of the physical examples of our faith.
Our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) provided help in the construction of the first mosque in Medina because he wanted to define a prominent place of worship for Muslims across the world.
In Islam, we often call mosques the home of Almighty Allah. Mosques are the modest house of worship and it is a valuable sanctuary providing a place for individual illumination, education, and moral direction. Besides the praying aspect, we teach our children the Holy Quran and Tafseer in the mosque.
The rewards for building the mosque are great and continued as every prayer done inside the mosque will become a source of Sadqa-e-Jariya for the one who takes part in the creation of the mosque. Not just it is rewarding in the hereafter but building the mosques will help your community brothers and sisters to worship in a peaceful place. In this way, you will help them bring closer to Almighty Allah.
Importance of mosque building in Hadiths
The importance of mosque building is greatly visible in Hadiths. The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
“When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (continuing charity), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him” [Muslim]
Sadaqah Jariya is done by performing different acts and one of the greatest sources of Sadaqah Jariyah is to build a mosque. Its rewards are unending as long as people are getting benefits from the mosque. This is the place where people will seek forgiveness, guidance, and blessings from Almighty Allah and this will bring you infinite rewards in the world and hereafter.
A Palace in Jannah for helping in building the Mosque
The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
“Whoever builds a mosque, desiring thereby Allah’s pleasure, Allah builds for him the like of it in paradise.”
[Bukhari]
It is our responsibility as Muslims to do efforts to spread our deen and create sources that can guide humanity at best. By building a mosque, we can take our part in spreading our deen in the whole world and make people come close to Islam and Almighty Allah.
Mosques; the source of uniting the communities
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said,
“Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter.”
[Muslim]
Every country faces different circumstances and yet all communities can’t afford building mosques by themselves. Some areas even don’t have mosques at all. People get to pray outside in the hot sun or heavy rain and sometimes go to other areas far away to offer prayers in the mosque. Thus, it is significant to help them with building a mosque through which they get ease in worshipping Almighty Allah and get Islamic education for their children.
Building the mosque will not just create a place of prayer but create a strong bond between the whole community while having spiritual guidance from scholars. With the creation of the mosque for those in need, you will bring life to the community and foster both moral and spiritual development throughout the years.
