1. Indonesia
As per the stats was shown by the World Population Review for 2019, Indonesia is the country having the most population of Muslims. Islam is the dominant religion while the country is consisting over two hundred seventy million population under which two hundred twenty million are prominent as a Muslim population. It makes up 87 % of the Muslim population of the country.
2. Islamic Republic of Pakistan
The country holds the second-largest position in the chart observing the vast Muslim population. The whole population of Pakistan is visible with over two hundred sixteen million among which more than two hundred million are recorded as Muslims. So, it is making over 96% of the Muslim Population in the country. Undoubtedly, Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam and thus called the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. However, there is a small minority percentage of Christians and Hindus in the specific areas of the country.
3. India
India is one of the most populous countries in the world. The country is carrying a huge population number with over one billion three hundred sixty-six million. Under this population, one hundred ninety-five million are practicing Islam. This covers 14% of the Muslim population across the country. However, the region is having Hinduism as the majorly followed religion.
4. Bangladesh
The country is fourth-largest in the chart of Muslim countries with over one hundred fifty-three million Muslims. The total population of this country is one hundred sixty-three million and this marks 90% of Muslims residing in the region.
5. Nigeria
Nigeria comes in the top 5 countries practicing Islam. Almost 50% of the population here is Muslim and it is having about ninety-nine million Muslim population out of two hundred million.
6. Other Countries
When we see the topic of Islam around the world, there are several countries that hold Islam as an official religion. Other countries having a greater population of Muslims are Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Algeria, Sudan, and many others respectively. All these countries are prominent with all the Islamic festivals throughout the calendar. The rich Islamic culture of these countries attracts millions of people and tourists cherishing their hearts deeply.
