Holy Qur'an

Life is the name of ups and downs. There are several times of deep trial, despair, and sadness in life when a person gives up hope and finds it hard to continue living. Different religions have their own guidelines for their followers but Islam is a comprehensive religion in offering the whole guidelines to live life prosperously. These guidelines are presented to the Muslims in the form of Holy Qur’an and our last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Muslims pursue consistent comfort and guidance through the words of Allah in the Holy Qur’an. In the noble book, Almighty Allah has reminded us at different times that people will be tried and tested through their beloved things and these trials should be bore with patience, perseverance, and prayer.

Endure Patience and Prayers

Holy Qur'an

Throughout the Qur’an, Allah has mentioned about the people before us who were tested through sufferings and their faith. In the same way, we will be tested through different phases and we need to be humble and patient to pass the trial. Here we are mentioning some verses that clearly indicate to remain patient and faithful.

“Seek Allah’s help with patient perseverance and prayer. It is indeed hard except for those who are humble.” (2:45)

“Oh, you who believe! Seek help with patient perseverance and prayer, for God is with those who patiently persevere.” (2:153)

“Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives, and the fruits of your toil. But give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Those who say, when afflicted with calamity, To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return. They are those on whom descend blessings from their Lord, and mercy. They are the ones who receive guidance.” (2:155-157)

As per the verses, Almighty is so kind to mankind and blesses all of us with boundless mercy and guidance. There is not a situation or thought for which Allah is unaware. Throughout our life, through thick and thin, Almighty Allah shows us the way to step up and get through hardships.

Strength and forgiveness

Almighty Allah has clearly mentioned about where the strength of a person lies. Putting faith in the infinite power of Allah greatly makes us strengthen and ease hard times. Here are some of the verses reflecting the meaning of life with the aspects of strength, forgiveness, and patience.

“Oh you who believe! Persevere in patience and constancy. Vie in such perseverance, strengthen each other, and be pious, that you may prosper.”(3:200)

“And be steadfast in patience, for verily Allah will not suffer the reward of the righteous to perish.” (11:115)

“Patiently, then, persevere – for the Promise of Allah is true, and ask forgiveness for your faults, and celebrate the praises of your Lord in the evening and in the morning.” (40:55)

“No one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint, none but persons of the greatest good fortune.” (41:35)

“Verily man is in loss, except such as have faith, and do righteous deeds, and join together in the mutual enjoining of truth, and of patience and constancy.” (103:2-3)

It is obvious for people to look at the tragedies and feel worried and anxious. But the believers are called to place all their trust in the Almighty and not feel hopeless and sad. The only thing through which one can get out from the despair is to continue to trust in Allah, seek help from Holy Qur’an and perform good deeds in life.

Peace and Love of Allah

Loving Allah, remembering him, seeking patience and comfort, speaking to him, fearing him are all the qualities that constitute pave one’s pathway to heaven. As stated in Al-Qur’an

Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah) and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. (13:28)

These qualities do not only make a way to heaven but also brings steady peace to those who love Allah. This peace has no comparison with any other thing in the world. It creates a special relationship between the slave and the Almighty and no need remains for any other person in life.

This makes the person enjoying the company of Almighty where he can taste all the sweetness of remembrance of Allah and its supplication.  Through this love, Allah’s slave is able to face hardships until he dies and can easily go through all circumstances if he has a special relationship with the Almighty. In the end, we would like to quote a verse with an intense hope of life.

For Verily, with every difficulty, there is a relief.
Verily, with every difficulty, there is a relief.  (94:5-6)
