Reflection of Ramadan in the Holy Quran is clearly represented for the guidance of mankind. It is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar in which Muslims fast from the duration of sunrise to sunset. Throughout the fasting period, Muslims get to refrain from eating, smoking, drinking, and other prohibited activities. This Holy month Ramadan is given to us to purify our souls and make ourselves closer to Almighty Allah.
Fasting is a great noble act that is so beloved to Allah (SWT). Fasting teaches us to exert control over worldly desires while spending most of the time in prayers. Under this post, we are highlighting the verses that reflect the significance of the Holy month of Ramadan. Several verses of Ramadan in the Holy Quran teach us how can we yield greater benefits from this month and find spiritual peace.

— Surat Al-Baqarah 2:183
The above verse is clearly explaining that fasting is compulsory to do so that we can become righteous.
“…But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.”
— Surat Al-Baqarah 2:184
“O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous”

The Revelation of the Holy Quran in Ramadan
The month of Ramadan in the Holy Quran has been mentioned several times and it is the month in which the noble book of Quran was revealed.
One of the verses states that:
“The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you, and perhaps you will be grateful.”
— Surat Al-Baqarah 2:185
The Holy Quran is the most precious gift that is given to Muslims and it is a wonderful treasure trove of information guiding every person to live a good life with the remembrance of Almighty Allah.
“Allah is with those who restrain themselves.”
— Quran 16: 128
Laylat al-Qadr in Ramadan Kareem
We are blessed in many ways that we can’t even imagine. Ramadan Kareem gives us endless opportunities to seek forgiveness from Allah and please Him at every stage. Laylat al-Qadr is one of those opportunities and it is declared as better than thousand months.
Quran mentions:
“Allah has made Laylat al-Qadr in this month, which is better than a thousand months, as Allaah says…The Night of Al-Qadr is better than a thousand months. Therein descend the angels and the Rooh [Jibreel (Gabriel)] by Allaah’s Permission with all Decrees, there is peace until the appearance of dawn.”
— Al-Qadar 97:1-5
This night is highlighted greatly in the Holy Quran and it is all about blessings. Under this night, we offer nawafil, make duas and seek forgiveness from Almighty. It is a great chance to repent in front of Allah and ask forgiveness for all past sins. Indeed, this night is sacred and the best chance to cleanse yourself and reborn again with new spiritual zeal.
