Arabic is the vast spoken language in the world and comes at the fifth position as the spoken native language across the globe. Having more than 375 million native speakers across the Middle East and other regions, the Arabic language is the official language of more than 20 countries. There are certain families who mold their children toward learning of languages especially Arabic. Learning Arabic reserves a significant part in their lives and so how they start teaching this language at an early age. Here are some reasons why they prefer learning Arabic.

Allah  (SWT) made the Arabic language the language of the Quran Kreem. It is the liturgical language of Islam and that is why all hadith and Islamic teachings are further passed on in the same language. It has been chosen by Allah (SWT). This fact should be enough as the reason to learn the Arabic language. Thus if the children are learning the Arabic language, they would have a good start in their learning phases.

Quran Kareem highlighted the significance of learning Arabic as :

“Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an that you might understand.”

(Quran, 12:2)

Increase in devotion

When children tend to learn Arabic, they build a deeper understanding of religion. As it is the language of the Quran, children will find ease in reading and understanding the essence of the Quran. When a child creates an understanding of Arabic, it leads to a boost in devotion and spirituality. This, in turn, develops a deep connection with Allah that continues to increase the love for the religion.

“Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’an, or are there locks upon [their] hearts?”

(Quran, 4:24)

Enhances cognitive ability

It is avid that learning a new language leads to improve cognitive abilities and memory. Different studies have proved that people who are bilingual or multilingual possess better critical thinking abilities with better communication skills and sharper memories.  Imam Baihaqi narrated that Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

“Learn Arabic for it strengthens the mind and enhances chivalry.”

“This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.”

(Quran, 38:29)
