Islam is a comprehensive religion that covers every aspect of life. It embraces distinct culture and civilization and this is why the traditions of Muslim countries differ to bits. The culture and civilization represented in Islam are not wholly Arabic. They carry varieties with rich diversity. There are distinctive elements in Islamic culture and civilization that are collectively grasped by Muslims. Different Muslim countries have different customs and traditions that are cherished by their people.

Kingdom of Sudi Arabia

The dressing of Saudis is quite unique and famous across the world. Their “Thobe” is so distinct and loose kind of dress. These are flowing traditional garments suitable for the Kingdom’s hot climate. Abaya of KSA is quite popular and this is what women prefer to wear keeping with the Islamic model of modesty.

Other customs of the country include the national dance of Saudi men. It is the sword dance known as Ardha. It is basically a combination of dancers and singers along with poets and narrators. Men stand either in two lines or a circle while the poet stands in the middle.  Their food dishes are also rich and carry several varieties. Nationals and expats enjoy these meals widely across the region.

Malaysia

Malaysia is a multicultural country and it observes distinct cultural variations overall. Different events are the center of attractions throughout the years.

One of the interesting stuff is that everyone there drinks milo. Either adults, babies and expats, everyone gets to bond with Milo drink. It comes in diversified forms like iced, jellied, caked, cocktailed, and the dinosaured ones. Giving gifts to the host is another interesting custom in the country. If you are in Malaysia and are going to friends’ or relatives’ home over the dinner then you might have to bring the host some stuff. But it is to make sure to not give alcohol or any impermissible thing in Islam.

Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, there are two official languages, Pashto and Dari. There 35% of the population speaks Pashto and 50% of the population speaks Dari.

Afghans celebrate New Year on 21st March and they name it “Nawroz”. It is the pre-Islamic festival and people celebrate it with the immense gathering of thousands of travelers.  Moreover, they also make celebrations and have poetry night on Thursday under the city of Herat. People from different age groups come and share ancient as well as modern poetry verses. Some food and sweet tea are also avid attractions of the event.

Pakistan

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is famous for carrying unique historical, geographical as well as ethnic diversity. It is a mixture of diverse cultures and traditions. The country is a mixture of South Asian and Western Asian inspirations. This is the reason that the official number of languages spoken in the country are 73 and 76. The religious event like Eid and other national events here are celebrated with zeal and excitements.

The rich culture exposed Pakistan to the traditional and modern musical arena. Pakistan has turned out to be a widespread music composer creating different poetic forms and musical styles infused with a number of languages and literature.

Pakistani truck art is the world’s famous craftsmanship. This Pakistani craft includes a plethora of styles, stuff, and creative aesthetics. Under this art, Arabic calligraphy is also there showcasing the prominent skills of labors. Many local buildings and sites are having wall hangings, such as copper work, paintings, and woodwork. Moreover, Pottery specifically the blue pottery is cherishable all over the world for its delightful look. Naqashi with the colorful tile work is another adorable art reflecting the Mughal legacy.
